Roles & Restrictions

Who can manage inks and data sheets, and how location/artist restrictions work.

Ink Registration has two types of “access” to think about:

  1. Appointment access (register inks on a booking)
  2. Inventory access (create/edit inks and upload data sheets)

Registering Inks On A Booking

If you can access the booking, you can typically:

  • View registered inks on that booking
  • Register/remove inks in the Ink tab
  • Share ink data (booking link menu → Share ink data)

Managing Inventory (Inks + Data Sheets)

Inventory management happens in:

  • ExtensionsInk Registration
  • ExtensionsInk RegistrationData Sheets
  • ExtensionsInk RegistrationSettings

In most organizations:

  • Owners and admins always manage inks, retailers, and data sheets
  • Managers have inventory access by default
  • Members and reception users can be granted inventory access in Ink Registration settings
  • Owners and admins always manage settings and extension deactivation

Location And Artist Restrictions

You can restrict an ink to:

  • A specific location
  • A specific artist

If an ink is assigned to an artist, TatTool prevents it from being registered on bookings assigned to a different artist.

What The Inventory Access Setting Controls

The Inventory access setting in ExtensionsInk RegistrationSettings controls:

  • Ink inventory create/edit/delete access
  • Retailer management
  • Data sheet upload and management

It does not change access to the booking-level Ink tab. Booking ink registration keeps its existing booking-based access rules.
