Core Concepts
A practical guide to how TatTool is structured: who/where/when/what money/what automation.
TatTool is designed around a few structural concepts. If you understand these, the rest of the product becomes much easier to learn.
Fast answers
- Who am I in TatTool? An account (you) that can belong to multiple organizations
- Where does work happen? At a location (every event must have one)
- What gets scheduled? Events (bookings, consultations, guest events, time off, closures)
- How is money represented? Payments (online/offline) recorded on bookings, then verified and reported
- How do we automate communication? Flows (communication-only automation)
The Mental Model
At a high level:
- An account joins one or more organizations
- An organization has members (roles), locations, and configuration
- Work is planned through events (bookings, consultations, time off, etc.)
- Clients are represented as client records attached to bookings/consultations
- Money is recorded as payments (not moved by TatTool)
- Communication can be automated with flows
- Reporting lives in Insight (Performance vs Outlook)
