Calendar & Events
Understand event types, conflict rules, and where to create bookings, time off, and closures.
TatTool’s calendar is where you plan bookings and manage availability across users and locations.
Fast answer
Most things in this section come down to two questions:
- What type of event is it?
- Does it conflict with time off, closures, or guesting?
Quick Start (Recommended Reading Order)
- Read Calendar for views, filters, time zones, and conflict rules.
- Read Bookings for the core appointment workflow.
- Read Time Off to block availability for a specific member.
- Read Consultations for pre-booking meetings that can overlap bookings.
- Read Guest Events to mark a member as guesting at another location.
- Read Location Closures to block scheduling for a location.
- Read Announcements to show calendar-wide notices.
Event Types (At A Glance)
| Event type | What it’s for | What it blocks |
|---|---|---|
| Booking | A client appointment at a specific time, location, and artist | Overlaps with the same artist’s other bookings, their time off, location closures, and guesting elsewhere |
| Consultation | A meeting with a client before a booking is made | Can overlap bookings, but still respects time off, location closures, and guesting elsewhere |
| Time off | A member is unavailable (vacation, sick day, etc.) | Blocks bookings, consultations, and guest events for that member |
| Guest event | A member is guesting at another location | Prevents scheduling them at a different location during the guest period |
| Location closure | A location is closed for a time range | Blocks bookings and consultations at that location |
| Announcement | A notice shown on the calendar | Does not block scheduling |
